About this Event

As part of the Royal Scottish Academy’s 200th anniversary celebrations, OnFife Museums are proud to present Living Colour, a vibrant exhibition celebrating two centuries of Scottish art. The exhibition explores Scottish art from the 19th to the 21st century, bringing together carefully crafted still lifes, elegant portraits, striking landscapes, and thought‑provoking abstract works. This specially curated exhibition highlights the diversity, creativity and enduring legacy of RSA artists across generations. Drawn from OnFife’s collections, the exhibition features works by leading Royal Scottish Academicians, including Elizabeth Blackadder, John Houston, Frances Walker, Anne Redpath, William Gillies, John Bellany, Kate Downie, William McTaggart and members of the Scottish Colourists among others. Many of the artists represented were born in Fife or have strong and lasting connections to the area, making Living Colour a celebration of both national artistic achievement and local cultural heritage.

The exhibition runs 3 Oct 2026 – 25 April 2027. We’re delighted to have an exclusive guided tour of the show led by Alice Pearson, Curator (Exhibitions) at OnFife Museums.
