About this Event

The exchange is part of a series of cross-sector Community Learning Exchanges that provides members of Scottish Community Alliance's (SCA) network - including DTAS members - with cross-sector learning opportunities, improving the resilience of the wider network and their practices through skill advancement and capacity building.

This particular exchange will be hosted by Cranhill Development Trust, on the topic of health and wellbeing.

Your visit will be fully funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and the Scottish Community Alliance. More information below.

Exchange description

This exchange will provide you with the opportunity to learn how to use effective community engagement to build a service offer for your community that is health and wellbeing centred. This exchange will also have an internal focus, looking at how staff welfare is reflected in the organisation's values and strategy.

Learning outcomes

  • Explore how designing effective participatory engagement can build trust, inclusivity and drive community-led action to shape health and wellbeing service design and outcomes
  • Gain a deeper understanding of placemaking and place-based principles to ensure communities have a stronger role in and control over their social, economic and cultural wellbeing
  • Learn about how our engagement with staff welfare has shaped our organisation's values and strategy

Anyone who is employed by or volunteers for a community organisation that is a member of DTAS and/or a member of one of the 28 networks that comprise the Scottish Community Alliance.

To enable as many organisations to attend as possible, we are capping attendance at two people per organisation.

No. This exchange is fully funded.

Thanks to National Lottery players, Locality has received almost £1.9 million over three years from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest community funder in the UK.

The funding will support the Connectors UK programme, delivered in partnership with DTA Scotland, DTA Wales and DT Northern Ireland. Through the programme we will bring local community organisations together, to build resilience, share innovative practice and shape their community’s future.

The exchange is also funded by the Community Learning Exchange fund, distributed by the Scottish Community Alliance.

What is funded?

Travel and/or mileage costs can be expensed. If you need to travel two hours or more (one way) in order to attend, we will pay up to £100 for accommodation and up to £25 subsistence per day.

We will provide expense forms to all attendees once the event has taken place and reimburse costs. Make sure to hold onto all receipts as these will need to be submitted with your expense form.

Please note, by signing up to this event you agree to your name and organisational details being shared with the Scottish Community Alliance.
