- To give a primer on Legionnaires' disease and its causative agent Legionella bacteria.
- To allow Duty Holders, Responsible Persons to manage and control resources, projects and control measures in accordance with appropriate guidance effectively and efficiently
- To allow all persons responsible for management of legionella to understand their duties and responsibilities, provide an appropriate support, training and resources
- To allow Duty Holders and Responsible Persons to manage operatives, contractors and suppliers in accordance with available guidance and best practice
Key Topics Covered
Completion of this course will enable Duty Holders and Responsible Persons to have an understanding of Legionnaires’ disease and its causative agent Legionella bacteria and how to comply fully with HSE's "Legionnaires' disease. The control of legionella bacteria in water systems Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L8 & Associated Guidance HSG274 Parts 1 to 3.
Delve into the history and microbiology of Legionella, understand risk management, learn about compliance requirements, grasp the specific controls in different systems, ascertain the steps during a Legionella outbreak, and appreciate the pivotal role of meticulous record-keeping.
