Timed perfectly with the school holidays, this special interactive activity invites children and visitors to engage with the art installation "Te Waka o Rangi", created by the students at the Northern Health School, and take part in weaving their own whetū (star).
One whetū is gifted to the installation, becoming part of the growing collective display, while another is yours to take home - a meaningful way to connect with the kaupapa of Matariki: remembrance, reflection, and looking forward together.
This activity is free and all materials are supplied. It is self- managed with caregivers and no bookings required.
