About this Event
During the day, local groups attending will display exhibitions on local history highlighting their current projects. This display will be open to the public and we actively encourage you to drop in throughout the day to talk about your own work.
This year's Local Studies day has been organised by Plymouth Octopus' Community Heritage Network, in partnership with University of Plymouth's Plymouth Heritage Praxis Unit, The Box, and the Old Plymouth Society.

Location
The Sherwell Centre, North Hill, Plymouth PL4 8ER is part of the University of Plymouth and is close to local bus stops, Pay & Display car parks. The nearest long stay car parks are at Mayflower Street East, Drake Circus Shopping centre or in Regent Street, behind Charles Cross Police Station. A direct walk from Plymouth Railway Station takes approx 10 minutes.
NOTE - The entrance is at the rear of the building, Sherwell Lane, NOT on North Hill.

Accessibility
We wish to ensure that every delegate can participate fully in this event. If you need special assistance, please let us know on the booking form. There is ramped/sloped or stepped access at the entrance, which is located opposite the Portland Building.
Exhibitors' Information
Please note, display spaces are limited and must be booked. Stands are in the Foyer of the Sherwell Centre, which is open to the public during the day. Publications and other items may be offered for sale. All groups must have public liability insurance and be responsible for their tables and the sale of their own stock. Items plugged into the mains supply must have been PAT tested and the health and safety of volunteers and visitors considered at all times. Unload and set up between 8am and 8.45am in The Sherwell Car park. All cars must be removed from this area by 8.50am.
NB: Please be aware that photographs may be taken at this event and used for our own recording and marketing purposes. By booking on to this event you are giving your permission for your photograph to be used for the above purposes.
