A Root & Thread Folk Learning Experience
“Steep the mountains into your cup."
Step into the gentle, healing world of Appalachian herbal tea—where every leaf carries a story, every cup is a blessing, and the simplest kitchen ritual becomes a thread connecting us to generations before us.
In this hands-on, heart-centered workshop, you’ll explore the folk customs, rituals, and symbolism behind the teas our mountain ancestors relied on for comfort, healing, protection, and community. Learn how granny women gathered yarbs with intention, how a steaming kettle became a sacred act of hospitality, and how herbal teas aligned with the seasons to cleanse, soothe, and strengthen the body and spirit.
Guests will discover:
• Traditional Appalachian herbs and their meanings
• How everyday teas doubled as remedies, blessings, and spiritual tools
• Ritual tea practices for grounding, protection, grief, and seasonal renewal
• How to prepare, blend, and steep with intention—using methods passed down through mountain kitchens
You’ll also create your own custom Appalachian herbal blend to take home, crafted with mindful guidance and infused with your chosen purpose—whether comfort, clarity, courage, or peace.
This class is perfect for anyone drawn to folk herbalism, kitchen witchery, ancestral traditions, or slow, intentional living. Leave with a warm cup in your hands, a deeper connection to the land beneath your feet, and a renewed sense of belonging to the old ways.
Come sit at the table, warm your hands around a mug, and let the mountains teach you.
