About this Event

TAKE A HIKE® offers FREE, in-person walking tours of unique and historic neighborhoods in Cleveland!

About the Tour: The Clark–Fulton neighborhood, also known as La Villa Hispana tells a layered story of immigration, industry, and community reinvention—where each generation has left its mark on the streets and structures you see today. Originally shaped by German and other European immigrants who established churches, built homes, and anchored a thriving commercial corridor, the neighborhood later welcomed Puerto Rican families and other Latin American communities who infused it with new traditions, language, and cultural energy.

Along the way, discover historic landmarks like St. Michael the Archangel Church and Carnegie West Branch of the Cleveland Public Library. Once bustling with neighborhood shops and industry tied to nearby rail lines, it’s now alive with vibrant murals, local businesses, and cultural expression.

TAKE A HIKE® is a program of Historic Gateway Neighborhood Corporation with generous support from Ohio & Erie Canalway and Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.

TAKE A HIKE® offers 45 unique in-person guided tours from May through December. Learn more at takeahikecle.com
