Larchmere - Take a Hike Summer Series tour
and historic neighborhoods in Cleveland!
About this Event
TAKE A HIKE® offers FREE, in-person walking tours of unique and historic neighborhoods in Cleveland!
About the Tour: Stroll along Larchmere Boulevard and discover a district where history and vitality meet. Developed in the early 20th century, the Larchmere neighborhood in the Woodland-Larchmere Commercial Historic District grew alongside surrounding residential communities and remains a destination for local shopping, dining, and connection.
This legacy is exhibited in the various types and styles of commercial buildings which span from 1904–1965 and through the retention of historic architectural elements, fabric, materials, and craftsmanship. The historic commercial buildings along Larchmere Avenue in both Shaker Heights and Cleveland maintain their historic setting, feeling, and design, reflecting their character as seen in historic images.
Today, Larchmere is a lively and vibrant neighborhood filled with independent shops, galleries, and cafés. Events like PorchFest bring music and energy to the streets, continuing a long tradition of community gathering in a place where history is not just preserved—but lived.
