and historic neighborhoods in Cleveland!
About this Event

The interactive walking tours are led by knowledgeable guides that will share fascinating facts about historical assets and key figures that helped make Cleveland a special place. You'll learn about architecture, cultural and neighborhood development, historic preservation, and Cleveland's role in American history. Along the way, you'll meet important figures from Cleveland’s past, portrayed by actors and actresses, who will share their stories with you.

The Shaker Square Tour meets outside Michael's Diner. Please arrive 15 minutes early as the tour starts promptly.

About the Tour: Explore Shaker Square, one of the nation’s earliest planned shopping districts and a landmark of early 20th-century design. Developed by the Van Sweringen brothers, the square reflects a vision of a connected, transit-oriented neighborhood anchored by twin plazas and distinctive architecture.

Along the way, discover how careful planning, landscape design, and rapid transit shaped not just a retail district, but a lasting neighborhood center—where architecture and community life have been closely linked for nearly a century.

RESERVATIONS are requested but not required, walk-ups the day of tour are welcomed.
