Discover Chinese Culture – Free Lunchtime Workshops!Join us for a series of creative and relaxing lunchtime workshops celebrating the beauty of Chinese arts and crafts. Each week, you can explore a different traditional skill, guided by tutors from the Bangor University Confucius Institute.
Admission: Free – no registration required

This creative workshop introduces participants to the rich visual language of Chinese opera through traditional facial mask painting. Participants will explore the symbolism, stories, and characters behind classic opera designs.
In this workshop, you will:
Learn about the symbolic meanings of colours used in Chinese opera masks, such as red for loyalty, black for bravery, and white for treachery
Discover the stories and personalities of classic Chinese opera characters
Design and paint your own mini opera mask
Gain insight into Chinese opera as a unique and expressive cultural art form.
All materials are provided, and no previous experience is required.
