About this Event

For 2nd June - A 9 mile walk. We will set off from the cathedral just after 10am to catch the 67 to Irlam. We will then (mostly) follow the GM Ringway route 18 from Irlam-Altrincham, aiming to arrive in Altrincham at 5pm. The route crosses over some beautiful bits of countryside including Dunham Massey. From Altrincham, trams, buses and trains are frequent to many parts of Greater Manchester so that people can go home

For 4th August - A 9 mile walk. We will set off from Manchester Oxford Road train station, taking the 10.06am train to Blackrod. From there we will (mostly) follow the GM Ringway Stage 15 route to Wigan. We will stop just over halfway at Haigh Hall for a picnic/coffee/rest/explore. When we arrive in Wigan, hopefully at 5pm, there are bus and train options towards Manchester

For 17th August - A shorter walk, very suitable for all ages. We will set off from the cathedral at 9.45 to catch the train from Victoria station to Littleborough. We will then walk 4.5miles to Todmorden along the canal. At Todmorden, we will stop for a coffee and a wander before returning by train to Victoria.
