Visit the Manchester home where Emmeline Pankhurst set up the Women's Social & Political Union (later known as the Suffragette Movement)
About this Event

Emmeline Pankhurst lived at 62 Nelson Street, Manchester between 1898 and 1907. On 10th October 1903 she held the very first meeting of the Women's Social & Political Union (the Suffragette Movement) here in the parlour. Visit this iconic site of women's activism, saved and rebuilt in the 1970's & 1980's by women. Discover the story of the Pankhurst family, explore their home and visit the parlour where history was made. Browse our pop-up Suffragette shop cart and take tea in our tiny tearoom.

Open Thursdays & Sundays from 11am to 4pm (last entry is 3pm).
