Join us at the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre for the next Business Breakfast event in collaboration with the Huddersfield Giants and 3M Buckley Innovation Centre.

James Allen and Janine Downs, members of the 3M BIC Technology Team, with an introduction by Sue Cooke, CEO of 3M BIC – Innovative Technology in Healthcare

Janine Downs is the Technology Manager at 3M Buckley Innovation Centre (3M BIC), where she leads commercial projects and collaborates with clients. Inspired by her engineering family, Janine developed practical skills early on, later earning a BSc in Technology from the Open University and an MA in Business Management from the University of Huddersfield. Starting her career in the financial sector, Janine joined 3M BIC in 2017 as a Project Manager and quickly rose to her current role. Known for her creativity and leadership, she fosters a collaborative culture and is trained in AM metal machinery.

James Allen became the Health Innovation Technician at 3M BIC in 2024, working on the Huddersfield Health Innovation Partnership's transition to the National Innovation Campus. He holds a PhD in Product Design from the University of Huddersfield, specializing in AR/VR, Additive Manufacturing, and Design for Wellbeing. With experience in both industry and academia, James focuses on creating technology solutions that enhance well-being.

Chris Hunter, Managing Director, Visual Systems Healthcare - A Guide for Small and Medium Enterprises: Entering the World of Health Tech Innovation

Chris is the Founder and CEO of Visual Systems Healthcare, bringing over 25 years of experience in both the NHS and private hospital sectors. He has a deep passion for leveraging visual communication to enhance the patient journey and overall experience, while equipping staff with the necessary tools to support this mission. The business is highly innovative, offering lean consultancy, product implementation, and digital app development

Michael Crinnion, Founder & CEO, Mind Body Goals - The Power of Breaks and Breathwork for Wellness and Performance

Michael looks for new and better ways to do things that have been done the same way for a long time. For his company Mind Body Goals, that means 'Wellness by Design’ - crafting beautifully designed products that help you bring proven wellness techniques into your life and support you with forming healthy habits.

Parking

Please note that there is no parking at the 3M BIC. There are several car parks within a 5-minute-walk from the centre. We recommend the NCP Colne Road West that charges 95p per hour. Find out more .

There are two spaces at the front of the building and one at the rear for blue badges, which are unreserved and available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Alternatively, there are a variety of car parks located near the University of Huddersfield campus, including Kingsgate Car Park, Colne Road and St Thomas Road. Find out more .
