Elik Gilad was born in Jerusalem, and started dancing in high school.
He danced professionally with Nir Ben Gal - Liat Dror Dance Company in Israel for over 6 years. While dancing professionally Elik had the opportunity to teach many different people with various levels of experience including children, non-dancers, and special needs. After his professional dance career he continued teaching parents and children as part of an ecological farm education program he directed in Ginaton, Israel. Elik is also an experienced aquatic therapist and since 2012 has worked as a swim instructor, infant swim instructor, hydrotherapy, watsu, water dance and water contact improvisation. Elik started Water Contact Improvisation workshops in Colorado in 2019. He continues to look for new and innovative ways to engage the community with dance and movement. Elik has recently graduated from San Juan College with an associates degree in physical therapy.

From his native Seattle around the world he spins an eclectic mix of many moods and genres, including heart songs he produces for his SoulFam and music from his own artist project. Ecstatic dance can be very diverse. It requires that the DJ be able to weave together a wide range of styles and tempos. Generally you can expect music in the electronic genres, especially Bass, House, Tribal, EDM, and Trap.
