Bishop Brendan Leahy - 40th Anniversary Mass

Bishop Brendan Leahy - Breandán to us - was ordained in Ballyroan on 5th July 1986, and the Folk Group sang at the ceremony. 40 years later, it’s time for us to go back on the road.
We are putting a call out to anyone who would like to sing and / or play from the altar at a one-off celebratory mass in Ballyroan on 5th July 2026 at 12 noon, celebrated by our very own bishop.
On the menu will be old folk group favourites (with words for those who would like them). We plan to have two rehearsals leading up to the event, and a short rehearsal on the day of the ceremony too. We will circulate the music (and some links to remind you of the music where possible) in advance.
Below, you will find the dates, times and locations of the rehearsals. We of course would love you to come to all, but ask that you come to at least one of the two music rehearsals below, as well as the quick run-through at 10:45am rehearsal on the day.
Rehearsal #1: Sun 28th 3pm-5pm in Ruah Centre, beside the church in Ballyroan
Rehearsal #2: Fri 3rd 7pm-9pm Church of the Holy Spirit, Ballyroan
On the Day -Sun 5th July 2026 : 10:45am-11:45am rehearsal; followed by the event itself - Mass at midday
