Besom (Witch Broom) Workshop
About this Event
This will be a begginner workshop on the traditional technique of broom making.
You'll pick from a stock pile of dried broomcorn stalks and naturally treated hardwood branches to make your broom handle. Select from natural or naturally died locally grown broomcorn for your broom. Add in other dried branches, flowers, embellishments, and oddities to make it your own.
*Natural materials for this workshop have been naturally and ethically sourced in Central Wisconsin.
*Other materials we'll use are lace, ribbon, various fibers, charms, and more.
*Allergy Concerns: Broomcorn (Sorghum) is in the grass family. Even dried, if you have a severe grass allergy; this workshop and owning a nautral broom in general is not advised.
Lunch will be provided at Noon. After that Heartfelt Aromatics & Henna will join us after that and take each particpant 1-by-1 for a complimentary henna session on your hand. Each henna session will be 10-15 minutes. You'll need a bit of time for your henna to dry so hang out with us.
