The Grit Pit Comedy Club - Friday 17 April | Mary Street Live, Sheffield |Beat the Pit is the first night at Sheffield’s new underground comedy club.
Ten acts. Five minutes each. After 2.5 minutes, the pressure begins. Three people in the room will hold the canary cards. They won’t be announced. They won’t sit together. If two cards go up, the set ends.
A curated mix of experienced comics and new blood step into the Pit. Some will land. Some won’t. One survives.
The winner takes a cash prize and the Pit trophy.

There are no extra chairs. There is no standing room.
