About this Event

Welcome to the Aquatic Bat Ecology & Research Workshop event! Join us on Thursday, July 16th, 2026 at 6 p.m. at the Saunders Hydro Dam Visitor Centre for a fascinating exploration into the world of bats! As a leader in bat research in eastern Ontario, Dr. Brian Hickey and his team have been studying Big Brown and Little Brown bats through fieldwork and data collection.

In this engaging workshop, you’ll learn all about local bat species, their biology, and the River Institute’s ongoing research through a fun mix of presentations and hands-on activities.
