Join us for an evening of learning and community, presented by Extremely Canadian & Whistler Search & Rescue. This interactive session will focus on what to do when things don’t go as planned in the backcountry, led by Whistler SAR members Jeremy Postal & Steve Leclair.
What You’ll Learn:
• What to know & how to prepare if you have to call SAR
• Common SAR scenarios
• How to package for rescue
What You Need:
• Your backcountry backpack packed with a day-tours worth of gear.
Hands-on interactive learning! Yes, that means break-out groups, brainstorming scenarios and problem-solving with others—so bring your questions and your A-game.
Tickets:

Meet Your Instructors:
Jeremy Postal has spent 25 years playing and working in the BC backcountry. A Whistler SAR member, EMR emergency responder, CAA avalanche practitioner, and rope rescue technician, Jeremy is also a skilled teacher and storyteller. He believes a great day in the mountains includes powder turns, a well-built alpine sandwich, and an après session full of good stories.
Steve Leclair, originally from PEI, has been called the “Most Interesting Man in the World.” A retired RCMP officer, competitive sailor, avid ski tourer, and mountain biker, Steve now volunteers with Whistler SAR, bringing a wealth of knowledge from different worlds.
