Curators Bridget de Léon, Freeny Yianni and Layla Gatens will share their insights into curation in conversation with Simon Periton.
Bridget de León is a curator and art adviser living in Bath. She has an M.A. in Curating Contemporary Art from The Royal College of Art. She managed the Delfina Studio Trust for 4 years and co-founded and ran Percy Miller gallery, London from 1999–2005. Her gallery DE LEÓN, Bath, is in its 10th year and is currently showing 'Take Two’ with the work of four international artists, Ori Gersht, Laurent Grasso, Dawn Ng and Erin O’Keefe.
Freeny Yianni is Founder and Creative Director of Close Gallery. Based in Somerset, with a viewing room in Marylebone, London, the gallery is shaped by a strong environmental ethos and operates as a 'slow green' gallery. Yianni is also Co-Chair of Somerset Art Works (SAW). In 2026, she curated the Royal Society of Sculptors Oliver Bayes Award 2026 and participated as a speaker in the Photo London Talks Programme. She lives and works between London and Somerset.
Layla Gatens is a curator and facilitator exploring embodiment in research and artistic practice. She is Senior Curator at The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, and has held positions at Serpentine Galleries, Spike Island and Chisenhale Gallery, developing collaborative projects with communities.
Simon Periton lives and works in Bath. He has a wide-ranging sculptural practice and is known for his site specific artworks within the public realm.
