Angels Among Us Luncheon
This year, we are honored to present our Angel Award to Lodie Massey.
Lodie is an accomplished woman in so many diverse areas that may be surprising to some. She has been a healthcare provider and educator as a Physician's Assistant, helping train the next generation of PAs at UTMB. She designed and founded The Gulf Coast Center's Substance Use Disorder treatment and prevention programs. Lodie performed in community theater during her years in Smithville and LaGrange, while also volunteering with hospice and a community clinic.
Back home on the Island, her current volunteer efforts focus on spiritual growth as Past President of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, civic engagement as a Deputy Voter Registrar, Rotary Club board member, Meals on Wheels volunteer, and Tree Conservancy board member. She also serves as outreach chair for Galveston Island Democrats.
Throughout much of the past 40 years, Lodie has been an Angel and guiding force behind the work of ADA Women's Center — serving as Board Member, Advisor, Acting Director, and Board President. As she recently retires from our board, we celebrate Lodie as Healer, Leader, Icon, and Inspiration. Please join us as we celebrate and thank Lodie for a lifetime of service.
We will also be presenting an Honorable Mention to the women of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, in recognition of their steadfast commitment to hosting an annual Celebration of Freedom Dinner for our alumni — a tradition that has brought joy, connection, and hope to so many women in recovery for more than 30 years.
We hope you will join us for an afternoon of gratitude, community, and celebration. Please forward to any of your friends and colleagues that you think would like to join us. You MUST register by clicking the RSVP ticket link here:
