Join us for the 44th Annual Island Oktoberfest on October 23rd and 24th!
Beer and pretzels and brats- oh my! Join the festivities for a weekend of food, games, live music, and activities for the whole family!
Join us for a Fun-filled weekend catering to all age groups, whether it is sitting and enjoying the live music to children playing in the special children’s zone. Besides fantastic music and dancing, you’ll find amazing food options like smoked sausage, bratwurst, and the “Wurstabendessen” – a sausage dinner featuring both German-style and Polish-style Wurst with all the traditional German sides. You can enjoy this special German dinner on Friday evening and all day Saturday.
Offerings for the events include but are not limited to:
-A large beer booth featuring local favorites and old classics
-A wine booth featuring red, white, and bubbly
-The food booth with German Dinners, Sausages, and even Root Beer for the kids (or anyone who loves a delicious dark drink)
-A dedicated Kid's Zone
-2 stages for Live Music
-A craft and souvenir fair located in the Historic Lyceum
-A sweets booth
-Try your hand at the Cake Wheel
-A German chocolate cake baking contest (prizes from Pampered Chef!)
-A stein holding contest for Men and Women
- A silent auction with treasures just waiting to be won
-and MORE!
Don't forget to stop by the merch booth and grab your own Oktoberfest T-shirt, hat, sticker, or commemorative pin!
The historic and beautifully renovated circa 1860 Lyceum of Galveston Island will be open Friday from 5 PM to 9 PM and Saturday from 11 AM to 7 PM. Inside, you’ll find vendors offering unique hand-crafted arts, crafts, and gifts for those eager to start their holiday shopping. There will also be outdoor vendors offering Oktoberfest merchandise as well as various foods and drinks.
Island Oktoberfest is beloved by vendors and visitors alike, so regular attendees can look forward to returning to their favorite booths, each featuring holiday and special gift items.
Stick around on Sunday for a Polka themed Lutheran Church Service at First Lutheran Church. Bet you've never heard the Beer Barrel Polka as a church hymn? Service starts at 10am, Sunday, October 25th.
Island Oktoberfest will take place on the grounds and nearby streets of First Lutheran Church at 24th and Winnie in historic downtown Galveston. Admission for the event is free! Pets are not allowed. Guests are encouraged to wear traditional German costumes such as Lederhosen and Dirndl.
