We are so excited to host a LAUNCH event for author Katie Bernet, who will be traveling all the way to us from Texas! Katie's debut YA thriller, Beth Is Dead, is a bold contemporary reimagining of the beloved classic Little Women. Beth March’s sisters will stop at nothing to track down her killer—until they begin to suspect each other. Kirkus gave Beth is Dead a starred review, calling it "a thrilling take on a beloved story that will keep readers riveted." Katie will be joined in conversation by local author Annie Cardi. About Katie Bernet
Katie Bernet lives in Dallas, Texas. She’s an award-winning creative director, a long-standing member of the DFW Writer’s Workshop, and the director of the 2025 DFW Writer’s Conference. As one of three sisters, she’s a diehard fan of Little Women. Beth Is Dead is her debut novel!
About Annie Cardi
Annie Cardi is the author of Red (a modern retelling of The Scarlet Letter), The Chance You Won't Return, which received starred reviews from Kirkus and Publishers Weekly, and was named a Bank Street College of Education Best Book of the Year for 2015, and the forthcoming Winter White, a modern retelling of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale. Annie has an MFA from Emerson College, and currently lives with her husband, children, and dog in the Boston area.
