About this Event
A UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY-ASSOCIATED EVENT. HOSTED BY PHILOS BLACK, SOCIETY FOR AFRICANS IN THE DIASPORA, AND LADDERING YOUR SUCCESS
You are invited to join us for an inspiring evening during UNGA Week, bringing together Africa’s leading change-makers, philanthropists, pan-African organizations, and innovators. As Africa emerges as a demographic powerhouse, we have a unique opportunity to advance youth leadership, job creation, and Pan-African unity. This event will foster new connections, provide opportunities to exchange ideas, and set the stage for future collaboration at the next UNGA and beyond. Join us for a night of reflection, dialogue, and celebration.
African Exchange is held annually during the United Nations General Assembly, an invitation-only convening of leaders to discuss important topics on Africa, and exchange of ideas around culture, business, and policy. The African Exchange focuses on Africa’s contributions to the global economy and represents a radically different approach to leadership and intercultural exchange. African Exchange comprises trailblazers and achievers who want to see the African continent thrive. We believe our network is an effective tool for catalyzing change in Africa - no better time and place than the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
UN Week in New York City attracts global leaders, influential organizations, and key sector stakeholders. By participating in this significant week, you can leverage the high concentration of potential partners and supporters to foster deeper connections and build strategic alliances. This event creates intimate and impactful engagement opportunities with targeted audiences.
Each year, the SAiD African Exchange community convenes at our Annual Gathering which attracts hundreds of leaders from 30-40 countries – a large majority of whom are Young professionals, Managing Directors, entrepreneurs, leaders from government, NGOs, the arts, and civil society – who believe that intergroup, decisive leadership is the most powerful lever for transforming Africa. Through our Semi-Annual Gathering, we create a space to engage in rich dialogue and action towards our mission of developing one million transformational leaders for Africa by 2050. Our attendees have opportunities to reflect deeply on the role that they can play as agents of change and progress in their respective sectors. We prefer to think of our Annual Gathering as a leadership retreat that renews and inspires our community of some of the most influential leaders on the continent.
SAiD’s African Exchange is a network of people who are passionate about developing a million leaders for Africa by 2050. Our mission is to create a convening place for all those who believe in this vision to transform Africa. Africa Exchange will focus on Africa’s contributions to the global economy and represents a radically different approach to leadership and intercultural exchange. The African Exchange Fellowship seeks to further foster a better understanding of Africa in the United States and worldwide -its history, politics, culture, problems, and potential. Your envisaged participation will show commitment to leadership development, to the success of the African continent via the SAiD’s mission and vision, and as an activist and a thought leader on the continent of Africa
