Adventures with Autism

Adventures with Autism is the ideal weekend away for those with autism and their families and carers to enjoy a fun filled weekend surrounded by nature.

Here at Low Bank Ground, we offer a judgement free safe space that provides a supportive environment to experience the very best of the Lake District through outdoor activity.

Our experienced and welcoming team of instructors can design a programme of activity to meet the requirements of individuals and groups with complex needs.

• Woodland Activities
• S'mores by the campfire

We're opening up this experience to 4 families of up to 4 people. The weekend will be led by our Activity Instructor, George where he and the rest of the team are on hand to support you through each activity safely and at your own pace.

Please note Low Bank Ground is an outdoor education centre which has accessible elements but isn’t a specialised centre specifically for individuals with complex needs. Assistance with personal care, if needed, must be provided by the young person’s support group.

At Be Well Outdoors we have a person-centred approach to our work. We would like to get to know a bit about you before you arrive to tailor the weekend with the wants and needs for the whole group. Once you are booked on, we will send you a personal profile to be filled in by all in attendance.

What can you expect?

• Spend time in a place where you can all unwind and take part at your own pace.
• Sharing stories and experiences with other families who have similar experiences.
• Doing new things together and making new memories as a family without social pressures.
• A rest from responsibility, it will be shared, we will lead your family throughout the weekend.
• Engage in adventurous activities together taking on challenges at various levels if you would like a challenge!
