Free mental health hike

Join us as we hike the old man of coniston summit on Saturday, October 5th, for a special day dedicated to mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Here’s what the day will include:

🥾 4.5 Mile Hike 🥾 A challenging route to reflect and connect.

🤫 Minute’s Silence 🤫 At the top, we’ll hold a moment of silence for those we've lost to mental health struggles.

💧Cold Water Therapy Dip 💧

A powerful experience to reset and rejuvenate.

🔥 Fire Ceremony 🔥

Bring a letter written to your loved one to release into the fire, honoring their memory and ensuring they are never forgotten.

🧥 On the hike, please wear a picture or the name of the person you are doing this for on the back of your coat.

**Note**: Parking is limited, so please car share if possible. This is a free event, and you are responsible for your own safety.

Price: FREE ( We have chosen a charity of Dohertys Destiny so any donations you wish to give will all be going to this charity a little bit about In August 2016, 16 year old James Doherty was working as a lifeguard and awaiting his GCSE’s from Hodgson Academy on the day he took his life.

Since that day his mother Joanne & school mentor Aimee worked hard to establish ‘Dohertys Destiny’. The aim of the charity is to raise awareness of young people’s mental health issues and support people who have experienced the loss of a family member through suicide.)

DD has 2 parts to the charity:

1. A bereavement group for families of those who have lost someone to suicide

2. A mental health toolkit programme delivered in all local high schools for young people in local schools
