About this Event
Preceptors play an integral role in onboarding Health Care Professionals. Research shows that strong preceptors are an essential component in adapting to new work environments, competency development, and job satisfaction. The Preceptor Program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center focuses on developing the talents of novice and experienced professionals through workshops and support. Professionals who are interested in becoming a preceptor, or refreshing precepting skills, can participate in the Preceptor Program with the Advanced Preceptor Concepts. This a workshop that provides a 3-hour interactive overview of building confidence, teaching critical thinking and clinical reasoning, and time management and prioritization.
The class is hosted by Nursing Education & Professional Development, but is not limited to nurses- all professionals are welcome who are interested in precepting.
