We’re bringing Saint Brigid’s Lake of Beer to Salado! 🍺
Grab a pint of craft beer at Barrow Brewing, Bell County’s first microbrewery, nestled in Salado, the Scottish Capital of Texas, and settle in for an evening of folk-rock with The Yokes, Austin's premier Celtic band. Their Irish pub songs, sea shanties, and maritime tunes will have you singing along before you know it.
🎶 More than just music…
During the band’s break, we’ll share the enchantment of Forest Church, where we meet each month to discover God in nature. This special CeltFest edition comes with an extra blessing …literally. We’ll be holding a Blessing of the Animals at Saturday’s Forest Church (see details below), and you’re invited to step into the spirit animal world right here at Barrow Brewing. Let your spirit animal choose you, then bring it to life with 🎨face painting to seal the bond. Because who doesn’t want to walk around looking like their truest self!
🌿 Hands-on Celtic tradition
While you’re there, try your hand at weaving your very own Brigid’s Cross, a traditional Irish symbol believed to protect against evil, fire, and hunger. Take it home as a keepsake of the evening.
🍕 Food, glorious food!
Because where there’s beer, there must be food, choose from three of Salado’s favorite food trucks:

Bring your furry, feathery, or scaly companions for a Blessing of the Animals at Miller Springs Nature Center, nestled just east of the Lake Belton Dam.
Picture a church without walls, just the cathedral of earth, sea, and sky.
Dress comfortably (sneakers recommended) and keep you and your animal friends cool and safe. Bring a water bowl and plenty of water for both of you. Pets must be on a leash or in a carrier, and remember, not all animals enjoy being approached. Maintain a safe distance, and always ask before socializing or going in for that furry hug.
If time allows, we’ll take a gentle, contemplative walk to discover God in nature. Outdoor worship is what we do every month, honoring all creatures, great and small, and all of Earth’s blessings. The size of the crowd will determine whether we can include this mindfulness-based, nature-guided hike.
