南国乡村的选举梦——回顾乌坎事件

在当下美国大选即将来临之际，我们将在十月回顾曾在南国街头与村庄发生的两场关于民众渴望民主选举的艰难探索。我们以一部纪录片带大家重回十余年前：而在中，广东省陆丰市乌坎村的村民们为土地权益而抗争，争取地方选举，反对腐败的地方官员。让我们了解在不久前的中国，普通民众对选举作为表达意愿、实现政治参与的方式的强烈追求。

擦星星事务所会在10月18日周五晚 7点于UC Berkeley 放映一场关于广东省的纪录片，回顾这场始于13年前中国南方农村的土地革命和民主参与。映后将有讨论环节，并有一位有村民选举经验并当选的特别嘉宾出席，欢迎大家分享感想以及你或祖辈所经历过的基层选举。

As the upcoming U.S. election approaches, we will be screening a documentary about the democracy experiments at UC Berkeley, on October 18 at 7 p.m. The film revisits this land revolution and democratic participation that began 13 years ago in a rural village in southern China. After the screening, there will be a discussion session with a special guest who has experience in village elections and was elected will be present. We welcome everyone to share their thoughts and experiences with grassroots elections, whether your own or the older generations in your family.
