About this Event
The 2nd annual Heartland Book Festival will take place on October 12 at the Central Library in downtown Kansas City with authors, books, activities, and more! Join us for a zine workshop located in Room 311.
Zines are DIY, self-published works. Typically printed on a copy machine, they act as vehicles for self-expression that exist outside regular confines or restrictions. In this workshop, learn how to create an eight-page mini-zine from a single sheet of 8.5" x 11" paper.
The Heartland Book Festival is co-presented by the Kansas City Public Library, Missouri Humanities, and the Missouri Center for the Book.
This workshop will be facilitated by KC Zine Con, a volunteer-run collective creating safer spaces in Kansas City for people to connect with the DIY ethos and values inherent in zine-making.
