Come hear Bruce Mathew’s presentation and book signing on Kansas City’s Historic Union Cemetery in the JE Dunn Construction Theater. Learn more about Kansas City’s oldest public cemetery where many of our communities’ pioneers, veterans and individual legacies are buried.
Historic Union Cemetery is the oldest cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri. Buried in it are many of the community’s early pioneers, veterans and others who have left lasting legacies in their own unique ways. The team of Judy King and Bruce Mathews, along with a host of civic-minded contributing authors, editors and designers present poignant memories and photos of “people whose hard work and persistence helped push the Westward movement and at the same time strengthened social equality.
These characteristics remain important to this day and underscore the value of preserving Union Cemetery and the history of those interred there.” - From the foreword by Anita Gorman. In addition to reconnecting with the past, Union Cemetery: Lessons for the Future, From the Garden of Time shares timeless photographs capturing the beauty of such a natural treasure.
Book signing and Sip & Shop to follow in Wisteria, our boutique located on the first floor.
