Capture the beauty of wildlife on the campus of the University of Stirling with guides and tutors Michael Cook and Roger Stewart.
About this Event

Whether you are starting out on your wildlife photography journey or are many years in, we will be exploring this fantastic pursuit together.

Michael will share key techniques for photographing wildlife and explain the creatures that we are seeing around Airthrey Loch, set in the midst of the stunning campus at the University of Stirling.

This will be a small group event and professional wildlife guide Michael will be joined by Roger Stewart, an experienced wildlife photographer and judge, and fellow member of Stirling & District Camera Club

This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience and camera users. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and get advice on how to best use the equipment you have for capturing wildlife. If you do have the option and can access one, a 300-400mm lens is ideal - but please bring whatever camera you have!

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Participants are reminded that the Festival and event hosts cannot accept responsibility for any injury suffered by individuals taking part, or any loss or damage to their property

Combining patience, fieldcraft, and photographic expertise, he creates images that share the joy of Scotland’s wildlife.

Michael was a finalist in the 2025 British Wildlife Photography Awards. There will also be an exhibition of his work as part of the festival at the Weigh Ahead Gallery in Dunblane.

Through WildScot Photography, Michael is providing a wide range of wildlife photography workshops and guiding services to help photographers of all levels improve their skills, while experiencing Scotland’s remarkable wildlife.
