About this Event

Family Archival workshop: memories of the Commonwealth games in Scotland

When: 13th August, 2026 at 14:00 PM (BST)

Where: University of Stirling Library (Reading Room)

Come along for an exploratory workshop where you can take a closer look at a range of archival materials from the Commonwealth Games held in Scotland in 1970, 1986 and 2014. You can also bring along your own souveneirs from the 2026 Games!

We’ll provide dictaphones for each group so you can capture your own memories, reflections, or thoughts about the Games. Feel free to interview each other or record whatever comes to mind as you explore the room - it's totally up to you how you use them!

It is worth noting that this workshop is welcome to all ages. You can still attend if your group does not include children!

This event is an output from the Supporting Scotland's Sporting Heritage project funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund. For more information about the project, see: sssh.org.uk.
