Step into the world of jazz singing in this immersive, hands-on workshop led by Pamela Hart and Peggy Stern—covering phrasing, rhythm, improvisation, and performing with a live band. Ends with a live showcase.

Designed for singers with a strong vocal foundation, this experience will teach you how to interpret jazz standards, communicate with musicians, and perform with confidence. You’ll explore phrasing, rhythm, improvisation, and the art of singing with a live band.

The workshop concludes with a live showcase performance, giving you the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned in a supportive, real-world setting.

Whether you’re new to jazz or looking to refine your skills, this workshop will help you grow as a confident and expressive vocalist.

Peggy Stern is an internationally respected jazz pianist, composer, and educator whose career spans decades of performance and teaching. Known for her sophisticated harmonic style, deep musicality, and dynamic collaboration with vocalists, she has performed with leading jazz artists around the world. As a master educator, Peggy brings a wealth of knowledge in jazz interpretation, improvisation, and ensemble performance, helping singers develop both technical skill and artistic expression. Peggy is the founder of LuluFest (or LuluFest ATX) an annual music festival primarily based in Austin, Texas, dedicated to showcasing women-led bands and improvisational music. It features female bandleaders across genres including jazz, Latin, and Western swing.

Pamela Hart is one of Austin’s premier jazz vocalists and a dynamic performer known for her rich tone, expressive phrasing, and commanding stage presence. As Founder and Executive Director of Women in Jazz Association, Inc., she has been instrumental in advancing jazz through performance, education, and community engagement. With a deep understanding of the jazz tradition, Pamela empowers singers to find their voice, connect with musicians, and perform with confidence and authenticity.
