Compassion hour -mat based classes
With Mel Chesebrough Yoga teacher & Yoga therapist
Class Information
Class: Tuesday mornings, 9:30–10:30 am
Sessions will be priced at £11 per person
Compassion Hour – Offers a gentle and supportive approach to yoga that combines flowing movement, somatic practices, and mindful breathing.
Why practise compassionately?
When instructions are offered as invitations, sensations matter more than shapes, and curiosity replaces criticism, compassion begins to grow—and the body responds in a different way.
Practising with compassion supports us to move away from pushing through our discomfort and softens the inner voice of self-criticism.
By focusing on how movement feels rather than how it looks, this class encourages greater ease, resilience, and connection in both body and mind. This is a space where self-judgment can soften, allowing you to move in a way that feels nourishing, sustainable, and responsive to your individual needs.
This class may be particularly helpful for:
• People experiencing stress, anxiety, or overwhelm.
• Those living with persistent pain, tension, or fatigue.
• Anyone recovering from burnout or seeking a gentler approach to movement.
• People who tend to be self-critical or push themselves too hard.
• Anyone wanting to reconnect with their body through mindful, compassionate movement.
My hope is that you leave feeling a little calmer, more grounded, and better equipped to listen and respond to your body’s needs with kindness.
I also teach accessible chair yoga in the same compassionate style. If there is enough interest, I would be pleased to offer this class. Please register your interest at reception or contact me directly through my website, downtoearth-yoga.co.uk.
