Yin Yoga & Acupuncture: An Invitation to Slow Down
About this Event
An intentional experience designed to help you slow down, release tension, and reconnect with yourself.
The morning begins with a gentle Yin Yoga practice led by Alyssa Fortune (she/her). This slow-paced, meditative practice invites you to settle into poses held for 2–5 minutes, allowing time, breath, and gravity to support the body in softening and releasing tension.
Following yoga, Licensed Acupuncturist Peter Liebenthal will guide you through a calming ear acupuncture treatment using four acupuncture points intended to support the release of stress and tension and encourage greater balance in the body and mind.
Together, Yin Yoga and acupuncture create a complementary experience to help you open, restore, and deeply relax.
No previous yoga or acupuncture experience is required. All levels are welcome.
Come slow down. Breathe. Receive. Restore. ✨
About Alyssa:
Alyssa is an educator, Yin yoga and yoga Nidrā facilitator. She was introduced to yoga Nidrā during a full moon circle at Eaton DC in 2019. That experience of deep relaxation set the tone for providing herself and others with the restorative benefits of Nidrā. She became a certified teacher and facilitator in May 2022.
She believes yoga Nidrā is more than a rest practice, it's a portal to limitless paths of exploration. It integrates body, mind, and spirit to arrive at deeper levels of relaxation and inner awareness. Most importantly, it's a way to reclaim the rest we deserve. It's her desire for others to be replenished, to experience themselves in ease through a restorative yoga practice. Alyssa's offering, Roots of Rest, centers QTPOC, BBIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ folks with the sleep and healing benefits of yoga Nidrā.
