About this Event

The Young Agribusiness Rural Network (YARN) is proud to present its Ekka event, to be held on the evening of Wednesday, 5 August 2026, at the iconic Stockman’s Bar & Grill, located within the Brisbane Showgrounds.

Proudly sponsored by LAWD and Bentleys, and hosted by The Royal National Agricultural & Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA), this event is a highlight on the YARN calendar-offering a vibrant evening of networking, discussion, and celebration with young professionals from across the agribusiness and rural sectors.

Held during the Ekka, Queensland’s largest and most historic agricultural exhibition, the event recognises and honours the vital role agriculture plays in shaping the state’s economy, identity, and communities. The Ekka brings the bush to the city and serves as a powerful reminder of the enduring connection between producers and consumers. For the agricultural community, it is more than a show-it’s a tradition, a showcase and a reunion.

As always, YARN continues its mission of providing opportunities for young people in agriculture to learn from leaders in the field and to connect with like-minded peers working in or adjacent to the industry.

Join us for an evening of industry insight, meaningful connections, and celebration of agriculture in the heart of the Ekka.

About YARN

The Young Agribusiness Rural Network was founded with a goal to foster an emerging agribusiness professional community in Brisbane. Our quarterly events aim to provide an opportunity for young professionals working in, or adjacent to, the agribusiness industry an opportunity to network with one another and rub shoulders with industry leaders. Our chosen keynote speakers will provide insights into a career in agriculture, as well as sharing their perspective on current challenges facing the industry.

Note: The modest ticket sales will go towards funding bigger and better events in the future, and ensuring the network is sustainable. The Young Agribusiness Rural Network remains a not-for-profit organisation.
