New York native and Philadelphia transplant Karen "Magic Fingaz" Smith is an award-winning percussionist known for her electrifying performances and collaborations with artists and organizations throughout the region. A recipient of grants from the Leeway Foundation, Illuminate the Arts, The Pew Fellowship, and the 2025 Black Music City Grant, Karen is also the founder of the Karen Smith Drums Ensemble and the Karen Smith Experience, creating spaces where artists come together through trust, rhythm, and improvisation.
