Pretzel Theater Co. in collaboration with Allens Lane Art Center proudly presents Jason Robert Brown’s, Songs for a New World — a powerful musical with many stories woven together that connect us all.
As Philadelphia celebrates America 250, this production offers a meaningful reflection on the stories, sacrifices, and dreams that have shaped our nation. Through a collection of unforgettable songs, Songs for a New World explores moments of courage, uncertainty, hope, and transformation.
Several songs connect beautifully to the spirit of America 250, including “Flagmaker, 1775,” which honors the stories behind one of our nation’s beloved flag, and “Flying Home,” which reflects on the emotional journey of a soldier — bringing a powerful reminder of the personal sacrifices behind the history we celebrate.
We’re also celebrating the 30th Anniversary Year of Songs for a New World with a special production right here in Philadelphia.
Directed by Josh Tull, this exciting production features a talented cast bringing these powerful show to life.
