In celebration of Women's History Month, , in collaboration with , and the , is hosting a special event featuring Dianne Dodd, author of Our 100 Years: The Canadian Federation of University Women. Dianne will discuss CFUW’s century-long legacy of advocacy, achievements, and its ongoing influence in shaping the Canadian nation followed by a moderated fireside chat and Q&A.
This event is hosted at , a national historic site located in the heart of Sandy Hill, an area rich with history and transformation. This occasion presents a unique opportunity to showcase and discuss the contributions of women in Canadian history and the vital role of archival research.
About Dianne Dodd
Dianne Dodd studied at Carleton University and the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, specializing in social and women's history. She has written about contraception, domestic technology, nursing and health care history. Now retired, she spent over 20 years at Parks Canada, working to improve the representation of women and women's history events in its commemorative program.
About The Other Hill
The Other Hill is located on the unceded territories of the Anishinabeg Algonquin nation, in the area commonly known as Sandy Hill Ottawa. With multiple venues and outdoor spaces along Laurier Avenue East, this project brings together Canada’s leading thinkers, authors, artists, musicians, historians and activists, to inspire the conversations we need to have.
About the University of Ottawa Women’s Archives Initiative
The uOttawa Library’s Archives and Special Collections team curates a growing collection of archival fonds related to the history of the women’s movement in Canada, with particular emphasis on the feminist movement since the 1960s. This unique collection represents both individuals and grassroots organizations that worked to improve the political, social, and economic conditions of Canadian women.
About The Women’s History Project
The Women’s History Project’s ambition is to advance women’s equality by promoting the role, achievements and contributions of women in Canadian history. Working with partner organizations, we will provide opportunities for discovering women's history through conversations, discussions, storytelling, multimedia productions and art.

Dans le cadre du Mois de l'histoire des femmes, le , en collaboration avec et les , organise un événement spécial auquel participera , autrice de Our 100 Years: The Canadian Federation of University Women. Dianne discutera de l'héritage centenaire de la Fédération canadienne des femmes diplômées des universités (FCFDU) en matière de défense des droits, de réalisations et d'influence continue dans le façonnement de la nation canadienne. Le tout sera suivi d'une causerie et d’une période de questions.
Cet événement est organisé à allsaintsottawa, un lieu historique national situé au cœur de la Côte-de-Sable, un quartier riche en histoire et en transformation. Cet événement est une occasion unique de présenter et de discuter de la contribution des femmes à l'histoire du Canada et du rôle vital de la recherche archivistique.
À propos de Dianne Dodd
Dianne Dodd a étudié à l'université Carleton et à l'Institut d'études pédagogiques de l'Ontario et s'est spécialisée dans l'histoire sociale et l'histoire des femmes. Elle a écrit sur la contraception, la technologie domestique, les soins infirmiers et l'histoire des soins de santé. Aujourd'hui à la retraite, elle a passé plus de 20 ans à Parcs Canada, où elle s'est efforcée d'améliorer la représentation des femmes et des événements liés à l'histoire des femmes dans le cadre de son programme de commémoration.

L’autre colline est située sur les anciens territoires de la nation algonquine anishinabeg, situé au cœur du quartier Côte-de-sable. Avec de multiples lieux et espaces extérieurs le long de l'avenue Laurier Est, ce projet rassemble les principaux penseurs, auteurs, artistes, musiciens, historiens et activistes du Canada, afin d'inspirer les conversations que nous devons avoir en tant que pays.
À propos de l'Initiative des archives des femmes de l'Université d'Ottawa
L'équipe des Archives et collections spéciales de la Bibliothèque de l'Université d'Ottawa conserve une collection croissante de fonds d'archives liés à l'histoire du mouvement des femmes au Canada, et plus particulièrement au mouvement féministe depuis les années 1960. Cette collection unique représente à la fois des individus et des organisations populaires qui ont travaillé à l'amélioration des conditions politiques, sociales et économiques des femmes canadiennes.
À propos du projet Histoire des femmes
Le projet Histoire des femmes a pour ambition de faire progresser l'égalité des femmes en mettant en valeur le rôle, les réalisations et les contributions des femmes dans l'histoire du Canada. En collaboration avec des organisations partenaires, nous offrirons des occasions de découvrir l'histoire des femmes par le biais de conversations, de discussions, de récits, de productions multimédias et d'œuvres d'art.
Tous sont les bienvenus à cet événement gratuit, mais une inscription préalable est nécessaire.
