Step into a space where creativity and self-expression meet intention.
This special collaboration workshop invites middle to high school students to explore the power of storytelling as a way to better understand themselves and the world around them. Through guided exercises, mindfulness, and reflective writing, participants will learn how to bring their experiences to life on the page, honestly, vividly, and in their own voice.
Facilitated by local educator and author Craig McCorkery, this workshop is rooted in his approach to writing from a place of authenticity and emotional awareness. Craig is the author of his first self-published book, Power of the Heart, and brings both structure and heart-centered guidance to the creative process.
Throughout the session, participants will:
-Learn how to use sensory details to make their writing more vivid and engaging
-Practice “show, don’t tell” techniques to express emotions through storytelling
-Explore personal experiences as meaningful narratives
-Build confidence in their voice through guided prompts and group reflection
-Experience how mindfulness can support deeper, more honest writing
This is not a traditional writing class, it’s an experience in expression, presence, and connection.
What to Expect: A supportive, judgment-free environment where participants are encouraged to:

-Share when they feel ready
-Listen with respect and curiosity
-Explore their thoughts and creativity freely
Who This Is For: Middle to high school students of all writing levels, no prior experience needed.
