Writing & Wellness
About this Event
Join us in-person for an afternoon of Writing & Wellness in Calgary's Alcove Beltline!
Have you ever started to write and noticed something shift, open up, or become clearer? There is a growing body of research on the value of writing and journaling for maintaining and improving mental health.
Led by poet, spoken word artist, educator, advocate, and Calgary’s 6th Poet Laureate, Wakefield Brewster, this afternoon is an invitation to connect, explore, create, and express.
As Wakefield says, this workshop is an opportunity to "art-it-out." We will discover what happens if we simply give ourselves permission to play with words and see where they take us.
You don’t need to consider yourself a writer—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to explore.
This event is presented in support of Time Out Healing Society, a Calgary-based charitable organization whose mission is to support transition and healing from acute mental health care, rooted in a wilderness retreat centre, creativity, and community.
