Peter-Anthony Togni returns to Calgary for the premiere of Chrysanthemum, a new piece written for cellist and multidisciplinary artist India Gailey along with Luminous Voices. This new piece features Togni's distinct sound world, setting poetry written by India Gailey. The piece is an organic combination of Gailey’s own improvisatory style with Togni’s unique combination of chant, jazz and modernism. The performance also features a remount of Togni’s Sea Dreams, premiered in 2018, with flautists Sara Hahn-Scinocco and Sarah Gieck MacDonald. The work was later released on our first JUNO-nominated recording. This all-Togni program showcases incredible instrumentalists in collaboration with Luminous Voices.
