Create Your Personal Dreadling
About this Event
Create Your Own Dreadling
What might your uncertainty or coping instinct look like if it became a creature?
In this hands-on workshop, artist Bramble Lee Pryde will introduce participants to The Existential Dreadlings: a growing family of symbolic creatures created to accompany the experiences that cannot always be fixed, explained, or neatly resolved.
Through a private word-clustering exercise, participants will explore the character, purpose, and personality of a Dreadling of their own. You will not be asked to share your personal responses with the group. After an introduction to the available materials and creative approaches, participants can choose to draw or sculpt their creature.
Your Dreadling might become a guardian, witness, absorber, troublemaker, companion, or something that refuses classification altogether. No previous art experience is required. The workshop is about experimentation, imagination, and finding new ways to give form to the things we carry.
Participants will leave with an original Dreadling of their own.
