Three of the most beautiful actors to ever live - Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie and Susan Sarandon- star in this ‘80s cult classic about a vampire couple posing as wealthy classical music teachers.
The Hunger is full camp; queer tension and complexity. And beware: the encounters in this movie do not stick to heterosexual norms.
Underworld Tavern in Mt Victoria is hosting this screening in their suitably dark, macabre and industrial surrounds. Prizes will be awarded to the darkest and most vampiric ensemble. A full bar service will be available throughout.
Continuing our run of film fundraisers, The Hunger allows us queers and our allies to engage with a pillar of queer culture. These screenings are organised and hosted by the community for the community. More than just a screening, this will be a queer horror experience.
The event begins at 3pm but come early to get comfortable. The film will start at 3.30. A short comfort break will be provided. Stay for a drink to discuss and dissect.
The Hunger is rated R18. No one under the age of 18 is permitted. Its running length is 97 minutes.
Tickets are $20 waged, $13 unwaged.
