About this Event
In 2025, Worms Publishing brings a cohort of experimental writers to the top-soil with the introduction of a new series of books, written by London’s emerging visionaries of the literary, dramatic and poetic. Conceptualised with a shared recognition on how words can bridge and bind, we are thrilled to announce the series, Silk.
Silk is a devotional series woven together with imaginative cultural criticism, threading the seemingly rudimentary, with an expanded consciousness to bring about the unravelling of language, form and style. Our luminaries this year are Sky Dair, Jess Cole and Sam Moore.
Situating itself at the fertile intersection of the poem, the novel, and the dramatic, Silk showcases the innovation happening across literature; buried within form and style, refusing traditional categorisation by instead embracing the rhizomatic nature – the delicate blur of the edges – between genres. Sky Dair’s poetry collection offers rhythm and emotional extraction of thought, the novel by Sam Moore provides depth and expansiveness, while Jess Cole brings immediacy and comedic energy to the fore with her deconstruction of the theatrical text.
In this series, these Silk Worms use writing to spin their threads – fragile yet strong, a single line connecting one thought to the next, weaving a story from the raw material of imagination. In conversation with each other, they challenge readers to experience literature as a living, evolving entity. This interplay not only reflects the dynamic visions of our innovative writers but also invites a reimagining of the boundaries of narrative and expression.
On Thursday, 13 March 2025, we will host a series launch and author panel at Acrylicize in London, E2 9AP. Please book your ticket to this event here. The event will begin from 6:00pm.

Worms is a female-run magazine and publisher that celebrates and platforms experimental and underrepresented writer culture. At Worms, we champion creatives impacted by the intersectionality of factors within our industry, inclduding: class, cultural ethnicity and race, disability and gender issues. Subsequently, this is the audience we attract, and our efforts over the years have most recently affirmed our platform as one of London's leading indie presses as featured in AnOther, and Dazed, Service95, and more.
Sky Dair (she/her) is a writer, filmmaker and musician from London. Her practice focuses on the presence of catharsis within the act of making and thinking. She is interested in the intersection and collaging of video, photography, audio and language as a vessel to explore emotional release.
Jess Cole (she/her) is a writer based in South London. She has written for Vogue, The New York Times and The Guardian et.al, and is a regular contributor to MARFA. Her creative practice has taken the form of dramaturgy, performance pieces and prose. Cole finds wit – the quicker and sharper it is, the better – very sexy.
Sam Moore (they/them) is a writer, artist, and editor. Their work explores the space between archival pasts and imagined futures, what the material world of bodies and buildings is, and what it could be. Their publications include All My Teachers Died of AIDS (Pilot Press), Long Live the New Flesh (Polari Press), Chesil Cliff House and Other Failures (Sticky Fingers), and Search History (Queer Street Press).
