About this Event

World Cleanup Day 2026 – Month-Long Campaign Kickoff

World Cleanup Day began in Estonia in 15 September 2018 through the civic movement Let’s Do It World, where thousands of volunteers came together to clean up illegal waste in a single day. What started as a local initiative has since grown into a global movement involving millions of people across more than 190 countries and territories. In 2023, the United Nations officially recognised World Cleanup Day as an international observance, highlighting the importance of collective environmental action and community participation.

In Singapore, Kindred Community serves as the country representative for Let’s Do It World and World Cleanup Day Singapore. Since 2018, Kindred has been mobilising volunteers, community groups, schools, corporations, and partner organisations to take action through cleanups, environmental education, and sustainable lifestyle initiatives. Our mission is to activate everyday citizens to care for their shared spaces and contribute towards a cleaner and more sustainable Singapore.

Join Kindred Community for our World Cleanup Day 2026 Main Cleanup! 🧹🌏

After a month of cleanups across Singapore, we are coming together for our final cleanup on 19 September at East Coast Park, Area H.

Bring your family, friends, colleagues and community along as we spend the morning taking action for a cleaner Singapore!

Everyone is welcome — whether this is your first cleanup or you have been cleaning with us before.🩷💛💙

What we will be doing

We will be coming together at East Coast Park, Area H to clean up the beach and surrounding areas.

During the cleanup, we will:

  • Pick up litter along the beach and surrounding areas
  • Collect and consolidate the waste we find
  • Sort the collected waste where possible
  • Record the amount and types of waste collected
  • Learn more about the litter commonly found in our environment
  • Work together as a community to keep our shared spaces clean

Our team will conduct a short briefing before we begin and guide everyone throughout the cleanup.

No previous cleanup experience is needed — just come ready to get your hands dirty! 😊
