About this Event
Are you an employer based in Middlesbrough?
Do people from other countries use your services?
Do your staff always feel confident supporting them?
Are you unsure about employing refugees or other migrants?
Join our FREE, fully funded interactive training session, supported by Middlesbrough Council.
This session will give you:
- A clear overview of migration from both global and UK perspectives.
- Insight into the lived experience of a local refugee and their journey into employment.
- A practical employer-focused discussion on the recruitment barriers faced by people from migrant backgrounds.
- Guidance on how to build confidence in employing refugees and other migrants, including good practice for retention and supporting staff once in work.
What our trainer, John, says:
Cultural competency isn't just an optional extra for organisations who serve people from multiple cultures. It's an absolute essential. Cultural competency enables multicultural teams to thrive and utilise a much broader set of skills to meet the needs of those who use their services, while also mitigating conflict that can harm teams and individuals.
