About this Event
PLEASE NOTE: This course is Face to Face in Truro
This course is designed for people who work directly with Individuals and families being affected by domestic abuse particularly those who are using abusive behaviours. Gain toolkits and expand your assessment skills to identify and respond to the risk and impact of Coercive Control.
If you are interested in delving deeper into the complexities of domestic abuse, this event is for you! Join us for an insightful training session on identifying the perpetrators of harm in domestic abuse situations, particularly where there are counter allegations and their behaviour is rooted within Coercive Control.
We recommend first completing our Level 2 ‘Understanding Coercive Control’ and our Level 3 DASH training courses for those that have little to no prior training in this subject matter. This course explores Coercive Control and the typologies of Domestic Abuse to support good assessments of who is at risk especially when dealing with counter allegations. The course also explores practice tools to use when working with people using abusive behaviours.
This whole day (10am – 4pm) course aims to:
- Increase understanding of Gender Based Violence
- Develop knowledge/skills how to assess counter allegations
- Provide an introduction to practice tools in relation to working with those who use harmful behaviours
- Increase confidence in practicing personal and professional boundaries
At the foundation of all DASV training is an understanding and awareness of controlling and coercive behaviour in an intimate or family relationship. Barnardo's Safer Futures recognise that people are affected by domestic abuse or sexual violence exist in all areas of society. We provide training for all professionals across all sectors.
