Women’s Health Review 2026: Perimenopause and Menopause is a hybrid continuing education program designed to provide health care professionals with practical, evidence-informed updates on the perimenopause and menopause transition. Through expert-led presentations, panel discussions, and interactive learning opportunities, participants will explore the physiological and hormonal changes that affect cognition, mood, sleep, metabolic health, vulvovaginal health, pelvic floor function, and overall well-being. The program will also address cancer risk, menopausal hormone therapy, testosterone therapy, autoimmune and arthritic concerns, and patient-centred prescribing strategies. Designed for a broad interprofessional audience, this program will support clinicians in applying current evidence to provide informed, individualized care for patients across the menopause transition.
Target Audience
Family Physicians, Obstetricians, Gynecologists, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Midwives, Pharmacists, Social Workers, Nurses, Obstetric Medicine, General Internal Medicine, Other Medical Specialties, Residents, Fellows, and Students.
Overall Learning Objectives
By attending this activity, participants will be able to:
-Describe the physiological and hormonal changes across the perimenopause and menopause transition, including their impact on cognition, mood, sleep, and metabolic health.
-Evaluate cancer risks associated with aging and apply evidence-based considerations when initiating or adjusting menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) and testosterone therapy.
-Apply practical, patient-centred prescribing strategies for vulvovaginal health and MHT, including troubleshooting common clinical challenges across diverse practice settings.

The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Office at McMaster University is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME) to provide College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) Mainpro+ and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) study credits for Continuing Medical Education.
This activity has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada for up to 5.0 Mainpro+ Certified Activity credits.
This program is approved as an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the MOC Program of the RCPSC. A maximum of 5.0 MOC Section 1 hours has been approved. Through an agreement between the RCPSC and the American Medical Association (AMA), physicians may convert Royal College MOC credits to AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
